Exams are… over!
I have finished all 9 of my summer exams! Finally! Had the last two today, Computing CPT4 and CPT5… “Processing and Programming Techniques” and “Advanced Systems Development” - they went ok… Unlike some of the other exams such as FP2, FP3, DC etc…
I think that Computing exams really ought to be on programming… If they gave us code to debug, or asked us to write code for a certain problem, that would be fun! Not this rubbish about how a barcode scanner benefits a headteacher… Proper hard-core programming to solve a real life problem - not *thats* computing! They could even set an exam with a problem they actually need solving, then when the results are in, they could actually use the best solution! Bonus! Everyone would be a winner… apart from those who cant program, but then they shouldn’t be doing Computing, should they!
Or maybe they should just run a separate Programming A level, which would be pure programming… teaching Java, C++, PHP, all the major languages… that would be really useful! And have a 2 and a half hour exam on a computer or something… Something like the Computing Olympiad…
Anyway, Ben signing off…
