Student Cell

Tonight we had a really good student cell, shame you missed it Sarah! We had a list of characteristics of God, and split into smaller groups to talk about them, pick a few that were relevant to us. The list comprised of: Faithful, mighty, Father, merciful, eternal, wise, compassionate, forgiving, Jesus, constant, just, provider, true, reigning, healer, loving, patient, creator, friend, spirit, kind, glorious, beautiful, life, understanding, personal, right, pure, trustworthy, refuge and saviour. It was really hard just picking a few… I chose Friend, because it reminds of the footprints poem: any good friend would help you through the tough times, but God is more than that, He not only helps us through the tough times, He carries us through them. After that I chose Creator, because I can’t help wonder how on earth people can believe that everything was created by chance, any time that I’m outside or surrounded by nature, looking at the stars etc.

I added one to the list: Hope. It’s what I wrote on the wrist band at Spring Harvest last year, and it’s true. I honestly don’t know how people who don’t believe can make it through some situations without the love and power of God in their lives, it keeps me going when I’m down, so how do they cope?

Other people added others to the list (such as Dan): leader, giver, servant, awesome. But really, when it comes down to it, there is no better way to describe him than just God.

God. No one like Him.
