Sleeping Monkey Presents...
The Prestige
Nov 16 2006It’s been quite a busy week so far! I last blogged on Monday evening so I’ll pick up from there…
Dan now has a new blog! It’s powered by WordPress, and Dan, Kita and I have upgraded my hosting to a more expensive package and are sharing the costs. We can now each have our own domain on one hosting. Dan has www.doss-about.co.uk (currently pointing to nothing), Kita has www.kitasixteen.co.uk (also currently pointing to nothing!) and I still have my own www.bencardy.co.uk.
I’ve just got back from doing my washing and sorting out the kitchen; we had our carpet shampooed this morning and have to remove all the stuff from the kitchen, so I’ve just put the TV and all the games and consoles back. It’s all so neat and tidy!! But I can guarantee it wont last that long!
Dan and I spent most of Tuesday working on our stats presentation, trying to get it under 5 minutes is really hard! Who knew there could be so much to say about the relationship between life expectancy and education?
Tuesday evening was Student Cell, another great one. I love the times of fellowship we have there, and just the feeling of being at home, with a fantastic group of people. Dan and I prayed for Ruth for her wrist and things, and it was just a great time. Afterwards Dan, Adam and I went back to Adam’s house and played some crazy games of table football, before heading home to bed.
The lab on wednesday morning was so cool!! We got three switches and three LEDs working so that you press the red switch and the red LED goes on, the green switch and LED, and the yellow switch and LED… recognise those colours? Yes, we have a traffic light set!! Woo! Its not so much the fact that we managed to get a light to come on when we press a switch, because that is really easy to do with electronics. The main sense of satisfaction is knowing that inbetween the lights and the switches is a microchip, programmed by us, without which the switches and LEDs would do nothing! It’s great.
Dan, Ruth and I went to see _The Prestige_ last night. It’s a really good film, I’d certainly recommend seeing it! It’s one of those films that makes you think though… and its really confusing, right until the end, when things begin to make sense. Really well done.
Monty Python Marathon tonight, looking forward to that!
