I suppose I ought to blog!

22Nov

Seeing as its now Wednesday afternoon and last time I blogged was Sunday… So what have I done since then?

Well Monday was the usual hectic Monday. Dan didn’t get home from Oxford due to train things and generally being shattered. So I had the first lecture on my own, but it turned out to be really useful as Martin went over some useful tips for the labs on the Wednesdays.

Monday evening I had Big Band, then I went to Dan’s with Clare (Ruth) to decide on what Ice Breaker we were going to do at Student Cell on Tuesday. We decided to play 10 seconds of the beginnings of 20 songs, and in pairs people had to guess the artist and the song title. We thought it seemed easy, but apparently it wasn’t!

So Tuesday I had a lecture in the morning, during which I solved our C programming problems (don’t worry, it *was* a lecture on C so I was paying attention!). We had no small group tutorial so I went back to Dan’s, we did a bit on the next coursework and then just sat around chatting etc! I had a maths exam at 4 so left before than, got the exam in plenty of time, and I hope it went ok! It was 44 questions on a computer and 5 on paper. It was the strangest exam I’ve ever done in that respect.

Tuesday evening meant Student Cell! I went to Clare (Ruth)’s and we met Sam and walked down together. Dan was already there, seeing as he now works there! We did our ice breaker thingy, that took a lot longer than we thought and people were suprisingly bad at it! We didn’t get to do our grand tie break because people just didn’t do that well :( oh well!

Then Stu did a talk on Tongues and Prayer and stuff, and we split into small discussion groups about prayer. I was with Adam and Sarah, and to say the least none of us really knew what to discuss, so we ended up talking about Lord of the Rings! After that Sam played some song, and we then split into guys and girls to pray. Adam, Stu and Dan (different Dan) seemed really keen to pray that I would get the gift of Tongues, because I had obviously seemed a bit aprehensive about it earlier or something, so for ages, probably about half an hour, I had to stand up with all the guys around me praying. It was a really really weird feeling. It started off feeling just kinda bored, normal, come-on-lets-get-this-over-with, but then I started feeling really weird, and not necessarily in a good way… Towards the end it was starting to freak me out a bit, so when they finished I went outside for a while, it was getting really really hot in the coffee shop!

Anyway, we finally left the coffee shop at probably around midnight, and went back to Adam’s to play some table football.

This morning was another one of our labs, where me and Dan found that we’d been travelling in the wrong direction for ages, and so had to back track and pratically start again. But we got almost 4 weeks work done in one lab, so we’re practically back to where we started. Got a slight frustrating error at the end of the lab, so roll on next Wednesday for us to iron it out!
