Sleeping Monkey Presents...
Houses and Grammar
Mar 23 2007
We looked round a house just now, “newly modernised”, and it looks quite good! I’m ringing Adrian the landlord tomorrow morning to arrange a meeting and to (hopefully) get a copy of the lease, at the very least to look over it. So things are actually starting to move along!
On a different note, I’ve decided I am very disappointed with the general public of Britain and their inability to correctly use the English language. Spelling I can understand, because some words are difficult, but there is no excuse for poor grammar! I got a letter under my door the other day that said “knowone” instead of “no-one” and “their” instead of “they are” or “they’re”. The first one is just spelling, but it’s a ridiculous ‘mistake’ to make!
Prayer that there’s no problems with the house would be good, we liked it a lot!

I am such a grammar freak! I go mad at poor spelling and when people use the wrong version of a word:
till = a cashing device
’til = short version of ‘until’
Ahhhh!! Maybe it’s because I’m an English student.
