Weekends and Monopoly
Here you go Jen - gives you something to read!
Where did I finish last time? Some thing about Thursday evening. Welll we had a fairly eventful weekend! Friday must have been the day we played rounders with a cricket set on the common with Jen and some of her “Fizzie” friends as she calls them, friends from her Physical Geography class. I can’t really remember what happened that far back, but Ineke came over in the evening and met Jen etc, but not sure what else went on - maybe someone else can enlighten me!
Saturday I think me and Ineke had a lazy ish day, we went into town and did a tad of shopping where Ineke had a classical bout and bought some classical CDs of some LPs I have with me at Uni. After lunch at Greggs we headed back to help set up for Ruth’s party, after collecting Jen from her flat so she could come do her washing round here (cheapskate ;)) Quite a few people attended Ruth’s and Sarah’s “party” where we watched Music and Lyrics and just chilled out. But after Jen and some other freshers, Sarah and Sarah (not the Sarah whose party it was - at one point our sofa had three Sarahs sat on it) walked back to their halls. Later I got a phone call from Jen saying her kitchen had been trashed and could we come help. Ineke and I went over there, and the fridge was on it’s side with food everywhere - not very pretty. Mikey and I put the fridge back upright and loaded as much salvageable food into it. That wasn’t a very nice evening for Jen or anyone living in those flats, and apparently it happened to 2 other flats around the halls :S
Sunday was a lazy morning again, then Wetherspoons for lunch, but I can’t be bothered to go through all the hassle of that so you can read it over at Ineke’s blog.
King’s in the evening, pub after that for a while (The Honest Politician, just down the road from Kings), and the next morning Ineke made me get up at half 6 to take her to a 7am train :P nasty! So had to say bye to her then :(
Monday evening I had big band, which was crazzy there were so many people there. But the bassist who was trying it out couldn’t read music so I doubt he’ll get through the sight-reading part of the audition tbh, and none of the guitarists stayed after the break, which could be a problem :S
Tuesday evening was monopoly night with Jen, Pete (Jen’s boyfriend), Sarah (one of Jen’s fizzies) and Dan. I was the car, and after a not that brilliant start eventually won with £12,000 where Dan finished only with £5,000 something and was the closest one behind - good game :) hehe. Poor Sarah went bankrupt :( but then, I did have hotels on Mayfair and Park Lane, and on 6 other properties around the board.
Tralala, the gathering again tonight, not more silly games this time though, should be good :)
