The King’s Christmas Meal
It’s nice to reach the end of this week. It seems to have been particularly hectic, from about last Thursday/Friday onward. Friday was the house meal, Saturday was the gig, Sunday has church and things, tidying the house from the Friday, Monday was a very long day of lectures, Tuesday had the party for the freshers, last night was the King’s meal, and today it was nice to get a bit of time during the day where I had nothing I have to be doing, to sit down, munch on a bacon sarnie and laze about in the lounge watching the Snooker UK championships. Other than tidying the house and getting it ready to move out, today should end up nice and relaxing… but I am still sooo tempted to go and lie on my bed for a bit, my eyes don’t seem to want to stay open.
Ruth went home this morning, her dad arrived before she was even dressed, but she managed to be up, packed and gone almost within the hour. The house is slowly emptying… Phil will go tomorrow morning, and Dan and I will both leave some time early tomorrow afternoon. I like having the Ka here, it means I can come and go as I please. So tomorrow I’ll be trundling off home, only to return here Sunday morning to do the PA at King’s.
It’s nice to have Pulse belting out loud over my hi-fi.
We only missed first place by one point.
The Christmas meal last night at King’s was really good. It was cool just to get a chance to chat to people we hadn’t seen for
ages, like Sam, and new people we hadn’t met before, like the friends the Sarah, Sarah and Mikey brought. I ended up sat on a table with Ruth, Jen, Ruth (Jen’s friend), Sarah Chamberlain, Sam and Sarah’s friend who’s name I’ve unfortunately forgotten. They called themselves (for purposes of the team quiz) Ben’s Angels, and I assure you I had no input in that! We came second overall - not bad considering Ruth and I had to sit out of one (painful) round as we had made it up so knew the answers… And we only missed first place by one point.
Ho hum.
