Album Art

14Mar

I was bought this album a while back, for my 20th birthday in January, and I’ve been meaning to post something on here about it for ages now. Dan and I were in Tescos in Commercial Road, the reason escapes me for now, but we were browsing through the CD section. One album caught my eye, partly because of the artist but also because of the cover. It was Then and Now by The Who. I picked it up and had a look at the back cover, and I was so tempted to buy it there and then, purely because I loved the layout and typography on the back cover. It was such a unique album, and a lot of thought had obviously gone into the typographical arrangement and the choice of typefaces, it was a superb piece of art. I’ve include pictures below of the cover, and you can see for yourself how great a back cover it is!

To complete the story, Dan was worrying as my birthday present hadn’t turned up in time for the get together I was having, so he went out to buy “something small” for me - it turned out to be this album. And the music is outstanding to boot!
