Reading, Cisco, Alton Towers, etc
I haven’t updated this blog in a while, so I realise there’s probably quite a lot to catch up on.
Firstly, though, I’ll mention a subject I haven’t touched on in quite a while: Project 365 - taking a photo a day for a year. I’m afraid it turned into more of a Project 30 - I managed about a month before it became too hard to remember to take the photo, or to find something interesting to take a photo of. So I’m afraid that kind of fell through.
However, I do now have a Pro Flickr account where I will upload any photos I take that I think are worthy of Flickr-ing, and it’s also going to be the new home for any and all wallpapers that I create. You’ll notice there’s a few new ones on there that I haven’t put up on the old site, as that site is changing! Soon there’ll be a brand new bencardy.co.uk, minus the wallpapers and downloads with a far more minimalist approach, but for that you’ll have to wait a bit.
Unfortunately, our house in Reading does not yet have an Internet connection, and as I’m moving up there tomorrow, I’ll have to find something else to occupy my time until the net comes; it also means that blog posts, Facebook updates, Twitter updates, etc, will all be far less frequent than they are now (Blog posts less frequent?? I hear you say; But you’ll never update! I will endeavour to do my best!).
Speaking of Reading, as I mentioned just now, I’m moving up there tomorrow to start living there before my job starts. I’ve been up there this week too, spent from Wednesday to Friday with a bunch of guys I’ll be working with at Cisco. We visited the city of Birmingham on Thursday, and camped over near Alton Towers before visiting the theme park on Friday. I now feel like I know the guys quite well, and it’s going to make fitting in with them when work starts a lot easier.
We’ve also just booked our holiday! We’re spending a week in the French Alps, and taking a few days to visit Geneva in Switzerland, and popping over the border into Italy too. So a tri-country break. Really looking forward to it, it’ll be awesome.
